Olva 101

What Olva is, who uses it, how the Arc ties it together, and where to find each guide.

Every part of Olva runs on one shared record, the Arc: what someone has done, what they know and where they're headed. Work done in Olva adds to the Arc, and each addition improves the resumes, job matches and outreach built from it.

Olva is for students and early-career job seekers working toward their first roles, and for the agencies and mentors who guide them.

The Arc

The Arc is a working model of a career. The Record holds the facts: education, experience, projects, and the job targets behind the search. Knowledgemaps the concepts behind that work as a graph and marks each one Applied or Encountered. Direction holds the tracks, values and taste that don't appear on a resume.

Where it grows

The Arc starts with an alignment session, a guided conversation that turns a resume and a set of choices into a direction. From there it grows with the work. Learning pairs each person with a real project for their target track, and what ships goes onto the Record. Building adds a person's own projects, each with the skills behind it.

Sharing covers everything else: an article read, a document uploaded, a question asked in chat. Concepts from it go to Knowledge, and a person's own work becomes an Add to arc card.

Where it works

Presence writes a resume and a personal site from the Arc and keeps both current. Jobs ranks open roles against it and tailors a resume for each. Network finds people at target companies and drafts outreach from the Record. Orbit, coming soon, brings people together to build in the open, with profiles that show the work.

The loop

Each side feeds the other. When Cleo ships a dbt pipeline as her learning project, dbt turns Applied in her Knowledge. Data Engineer roles rise in her Feed, her tailored resume leads with the project, and her note to a Snowflake engineer opens with it. Everything she builds next adds to the same Arc.

Mentors and agencies

Agencies run on Olva to pair students with mentors. A mentor starts each session with the student's Arc: what they've built, what they know and where they're aiming. Sessions, hours, sales and pay all run in the same place.

About these docs

The guides follow the app. Home covers sessions, hours and tasks. Arc covers the Record, Knowledge, the resume and the website. Jobs and Network cover the Feed, the Job Post, contacts and the pipeline. Settings holds profile and account, and For Agency has the guides for mentors, admins and sales. Most pages open with a short walkthrough, and ⌘K searches every guide.
